Tara Bedeau, Esq., SPHR, M.A.R.
Ms. Bedeau is the Founder and CEO of The Precise Aim. She has been a licensed Attorney for more than a decade.
Ms. Bedeau honed her expertise at the largest US based global Labor and Employment law firm. There, she represented and counseled clients in various labor and employment matters and trained them in employment law and ethics compliance, diversity & inclusion and human systems engagement & management (organizational psychology). She contributed further as an appointed member of their Diversity Council. Due to her impact, Ms. Bedeau has also led and managed organizations dedicated to diversity & inclusion, including two US statewide organizations. Their members were comprised of ALM 100 Law Firms, Fortune 500 companies, Public Agencies and key stakeholders. Ms. Bedeau was then recruited to develop at the helm of a local government a Diversity Programs office responsible for the advocacy, compliance and enforcement of the diversity & inclusion and equal employment opportunity (EEO) policies and initiatives, and to ensure constituency services were strategically aligned with the organizational mission, goals and objectives. Ms. Bedeau also has advised on diversity & inclusion initiatives and programs for an Ivy League Institution.
Ms. Bedeau has been an Educator, Trainer, Speaker and Consultant for numerous companies, organizations, institutions, trade associations and religious institutions, as well as a featured keynote and panelist, broadcast commentator and media guest at national events and venues. She has authored several publications on various issues arising in employment law, workplace management, diversity & inclusion and religion appearing in industry, academic and media publications for national and international audiences. Ms. Bedeau has received past honors being named as a “Top Mover and Shaker in Diversity” by a prominent national industry association, and has been appointed on various leadership committees for organizations.
Ms. Bedeau graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her J.D. with a concentration in Public Law from Cornell Law School and an M.A/M.T.S. summa cum laude (common standard equivalent) in Religion [Interreligious Engagement (diversity, pluralism and inclusion) and Psychology & Religion] at Union Theological Seminary (Union), a Columbia University Institution. While at Union, she was awarded a Henry R. Luce Fellowship to study in Indonesia, where she published on the intersectionality of political systems, governance and religious diversity & inclusion. In addition, she interned as a Pediatric Chaplain at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, providing spiritual and emotional support to more than 800 diverse patients, families and staff. Ms. Bedeau served as an appointed member of Union’s Diversity, Academic Affairs, Strategic Planning & Implementation and Educational Policy Committees for multiple terms.
Ms. Bedeau has been awarded a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). She has completed training in Mediation and Conflict Resolution hosted at the University of California, Berkeley, and in Organizational Development and Change Management. Also, she has a completed the training in Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and has a pending certification.
