Tara Bedeau, Esq., SPHR, M.A.R.

TARA BEDEAU, ESQ., SPHR, M.A.R, is an Attorney, Organizational Consultant and Leadership Coach. She has been a licensed Attorney for almost 20 years, and is the Founder and Principal of The Precise Aim (Precise Aim Consulting). Founded in 2009, it is a change management organization dedicated to the cultivation and optimization *individual* and *organizational* health. Addressing the “root cause(s)” of the issue at hand, it uses a dynamic, interdisciplinary approach leveraging instinct, intuition, intellect and inspiration. Collectively, it reflects more than two decades of professional experience and interdisciplinary education in the complimentary fields of U .S. Employment Law Compliance, Diversity , Equity & Inclusion (DEI); Leadership & Organizational Development/Talent Management, [Systems]Change & Wellness.

Ms. Bedeau honed her expertise at the largest US based global Labor and Employment law firm. There, she represented and counseled clients in various labor and employment matters and trained them in employment law and ethics compliance, DEI and human systems engagement & management (organizational psychology). She contributed further as an appointed member of their Diversity Council. Due to her impact, she collectively has led, managed and advised organizations, departments and divisions dedicated to systemic DEI & social change in their fields, including ALM 100 Law Firms, Fortune 500 companies, non-profit, governmental and state/public agencies, educational institutions and key stakeholders. Ms. Bedeau has received past honors including being named as a “Top Mover and Shaker in Diversity” by a prominent national industry association, and has been appointed on various leadership committees.

To augment her social justice/impact and organizational wellness foci, Ms. Bedeau received a Masters Degree in Religion at Union Theological Seminary, a Columbia University Institution. She concentrated in Interreligious Engagement (DEI) and Psychology & Religion (Depth & Organizational Psychology), and was an appointed member of their Diversity, Academic Affairs, Educational Policy and Strategic Planning & Implementation Committees. As a Henry R. Luce Fellow, she studied in Indonesia, publishing and later presenting on her work on the intersectionality of DEI and sociopolitical systems change at the American Academy of Religion (AAR).

Ms. Bedeau completed wellness and chaplaincy training (CPE) at two prominent international hospitals where she provided wellness, psycho-spiritual and emotional support for thousands of pediatric and adult patients, caregivers and hospital staff of diverse social identities. In the wake of the dual pandemics of 2020, Ms. Bedeau facilitated the inaugural launch of COVID and DEI initiatives and interventions for hospital leadership and staff, inclusive of “Brave Space” conversations, about the distressing impact of both pandemics. She is an appointed member of the board mandated Professional Advisory Group for UCSF Health Spiritual Care Department.

Addressing matters within her collective areas of expertise, Ms. Bedeau has been an Educator, Trainer, Speaker, Life & Leadership Coach and Consultant as well as a featured keynote, speaker, panelist, broadcast commentator and media guest at local and national gatherings, conferences, events and venues. In addition, she has authored several publications and has been guest faculty at prominent institutions. Ms. Bedeau has traveled and lived throughout the globe, studying, participating and/or being initiated in spiritual, wisdom and wellness communities, practices and traditions.

Collectively, clients served include organizations and their [executive] leadership in the public, private, non-profit and academic sectors as well as heart & head led leaders and change agents. Ms. Bedeau finds being of service to be the highest professional and vocational call.

 Ms. Bedeau graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.). from Cornell Law School, and a Masters in Religion at Union Theological Seminary, a Columbia University Institution. Ms. Bedeau has been awarded a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). She has completed certifications in Mediation and Conflict Resolution hosted at the University of California, Berkeley, and in Organizational Development and Change Management. She has completed training in Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as well as in spiritual and wellness assessments. Ms. Bedeau also serves an ordained Interfaith/Spiritual Minister.
